Add an additional IP address to the operating system

Assigned at least two IP addresses to the network card. Let's assume the two IP addresses are, 192.168.0.3 and 192.168.0.4.

Here are the instructions for setting up two IP addresses on a network card.

Instructions for Windows Server 2003

1. Click on Start, right click on My Network Places and select Properties.

2. Right click on the Local Area Connection that is connected your network and select Properties.

3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.

Note:
You must use static IP addresses to complete the next step. If you do not have static IP addresses available, please contact your network administrator or your Internet Service Provider for this information.

4. Click the Advanced button.

5. Click the Add button under the IP addresses section

6. Enter the second IP address and click OK.

7. Close all the network configuration windows.

After you complete this process, the Windows server computer will have two IP addresses assigned to its network card.
