Vancouver, British Columbia – January 24, 2006 –
Momentum Conferencing Corporation, a 100% Canadian-owned
conferencing provider, today announced that it will
begin offering WiredRed’s e/pop Web Conferencing, which
makes Momentum the first full service conferencing
supplier of e/pop in Canada. Branded as Momentum
InMotion, the technology adds the face-to-face
connection of live, multiparty video to a comprehensive
set of features that include PowerPoint®, desktop,
application and document sharing; as well as full
language support for Canadian French. In addition, full
Microsoft Outlook integration makes it even easier for
users to schedule sessions and provide their guests with
links that will bring them into scheduled conferences
directly from their Outlook calendar.
Momentum Conferencing Corporation, based in Vancouver,
British Columbia, provides a diverse range of audio, web
and video conferencing options to its clients throughout
North America and beyond. Each offering is selected
based on three criteria: affordability, reliability, and
functionality. e/pop meets these criteria, and the
unique functionality of webcam-enabled multiparty video
made e/pop a natural choice.
“We are constantly monitoring new and evolving
conferencing technology offerings, to ensure that we are
making the best options available to our Customers,”
says Steve Niven, President and CEO of Momentum
Conferencing Corporation. “We have used e/pop for
several months and we are impressed not only with its
price and dependability, but also – and even more
importantly – with the fluid video capabilities it
brings to business conferencing.”
The Momentum assessment also factored in e/pop’s
longevity in the real-time communications market,
customization and integration with Momentum’s internal
systems, plus automation capabilities that allow all
users to communicate regardless of bandwidth and
connection speed. This type of automation is essential
for a high-quality, fluid conferencing experience where
multiple video participants join the conference through
a variety of Internet connections.
Unlike competitive video conferencing products, Momentum
InMotion does not require customers or conference
participants to purchase video multiplexers (MUXes),
multi-channel units (MCUs), session border controllers
or any other complex equipment. Users simply need a PC
and Internet access. The routing technology provided by
e/pop software provides network address translator (NAT)
and firewall traversal that maximizes the potential for
connection success over existing customer networks.
“We are delighted that Momentum Conferencing Corporation
chose to include e/pop in their range of web and video
conferencing options,” said Steven Peltier, WiredRed’s
CEO. “We believe that Momentum’s consultative approach
to the conferencing business complements WiredRed’s
technology. We are impressed with the knowledge and
professionalism of the company’s Sales and Client
Support staff.”
Momentum InMotion is available now, and can be purchased
in a variety of configurations, depending on the
Customer’s situation. Momentum InMotion is hosted by
Momentum Conferencing and is purchased on a per seat per
month basis. Access is via Momentum’s website. Momentum
InMotion – Enterprise is also hosted by Momentum, but it
is accessed via the Customer’s website with branded
log-in pages. Momentum InMotion – Enterprise Plus is the
self-hosted option, which is the choice of most large
corporations and government agencies.
