Davenport & Company LLC Chooses WiredRed’s e/pop^® for Secure,
Company-wide Instant Messaging

San Diego, California – December 2, 2003 – WiredRed®, a technology leader in enterprise real-time communications software, today announced that Davenport & Company LLC, a full-service firm offering comprehensive investment services, has deployed e/pop® for more efficient communications. WiredRed’s e/pop is a secure instant messaging and comprehensive real-time communications system designed for business.

e/pop is used by Davenport’s 400 brokers, sales support and IT personnel in 19 branch offices throughout Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina to securely deliver important market information, notify personnel about urgent phone calls and to send company-wide alerts about IT-related issues.

According to Mike Eckler, Davenport’s Vice President of Information Services, e/pop has become an invaluable component of the company’s communication infrastructure that has decreased dependency on the phone system to deliver critical information.
